My intention is this project is to create a connection between the person and the environment that is tightened up with the lighting. I chose a location that is differed and not familiar to the viewer, a place that the viewer would not think that a photograph would be made there. In addition, since I never went to that location, I wanted the place to surprise me with the light that it might contain. However, I did not want to work with flat lighting, I did not want my photograph to be balanced in terms of light intensity. I was looking for a light that could create shadow, come from a specific angle or lights up a specific area. In other words, a dynamic light that is evident in the photograph, which the location offered quite well. Looking at the iterations, the lighting worked as a brooder surrounding the model that is once balance with her color and the other is contrasting with her. It squeezes her in place that she does not want to be part of. Looking at the final picture, the light created a language between the model and the environment surrounding her. She is homeless; she is looking at the light as if it is her path to what she has in mind, her inner thoughts and dreams. An escape tool of the nightmare she lives in. A guide to a better status, a better life.
