Shatat - Intro

Meaning dispersal, referring to the situation of being uprooted from a native land. This project is an interactive data visualization of the Palestinian migrations throughout the years and the geographic locations each family have been to leading to the United Arab Emirates. It is a study conducted on the third generation who are currently in the UAE. It focuses on the journey that their families went through and the citizenship given from year to year. The aim of this project is to showcase that even though all Palestinians are originally from one landmark, each on of them gained new identity and background that makes them different from another Palestinian. It is not only a new citizenship or travel document, it is a new different culture added to their origin.
